Privacy Policy || TimeShield : App Blocker

App: TimeShield (com.sanam.io.timeshield)
Effective Date: September 27, 2026
Last Updated: September 27, 2026

TimeShield ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy outlines how the TimeShield mobile application for Android handles your data.

1. Zero Data Collection & Zero Transmission

TimeShield does NOT collect, store on remote servers, sell, monetize, or transmit any personal data, usage metrics, or device identifiers.

All calculations, application timers, screen time tracking, and blocking operations are performed 100% locally on your device. We do not operate external databases, telemetry servers, or cloud infrastructure.

2. Android Permissions and Why We Need Them

To provide digital wellbeing and screen time limiting features, TimeShield requests specific Android permissions:

  • Usage Stats Access (android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS)
Purpose: Used strictly to measure screen time for user-selected applications to enforce your set daily limits. This data is calculated in real time on your phone and is never uploaded.
  • Query All Packages (android.permission.QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)
Purpose: Allows you to see a list of installed launcher apps so you can choose which apps you wish to monitor and limit. This list is never transmitted or shared.
  • Display Over Other Apps (android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)
Purpose: Displays a full-screen "Time's Up" overlay over blocked applications once your configured daily limit is reached.
  • Foreground Service (android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE)
Purpose: Keeps the timer running reliably in the background with an ongoing system notification so limits are enforced without being killed by battery optimization.
  • Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
Purpose: Required on Android 13+ to display the ongoing foreground service status in your notification bar.
  • Run at Startup (android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)
Purpose: Resumes monitoring service automatically when your phone reboots so your limits remain active.

3. Third-Party Services & Advertising

TimeShield is completely tracker-free:

  • No advertising SDKs (e.g., AdMob, Unity Ads).
  • No tracking or analytics SDKs (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics).
  • No third-party SDKs that collect device identifiers or personal data.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

All your preferences and app limits are stored securely within the app's local sandbox storage on your device. You can delete all data at any time by:

  • Going to Device Settings > Apps > TimeShield > Storage > Clear Storage.
  • Uninstalling the app, which automatically wipes all local data permanently.

5. Children’s Privacy

TimeShield does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is safe for all audiences and complies with Google Play Families Policy and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published directly on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
